Deadlines & How to Apply

How to Apply:

In order to apply for a UCEAP program, you must submit applications in two different portals. Both submissions must be completed by the deadline listed in the When to Apply section below.

1) UCEAP Portal – Applications are now closed for programs that run in the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

2) UCIAbroad Portal

Applications are NOW CLOSED for Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and Year 2021-2022 programs.

Applications are NOW CLOSED for Winter 2022 and Spring 2022 programs.

Applications for 2022-23 will open during Fall 2021. Please check back then.

When to Apply:

  • For programs that will take place in the academic year 2022-2023, apply in both application portals above by the UCI Application Deadline listed in the chart below.
  • Typically you must apply for a UCEAP program 9-12 months before departing for the program.
  • Submit only ONE application for a given Program Term.
  • Most programs are not competitive but those which are competitive are marked as “Limited Spaces” in the chart below. For competitive programs, we suggest having a back-up program option in mind but only apply to your top choice.  If you are not chosen for your top choice, staff will reach out to you about applying for alternative options.
  • After applying, you will receive an email regarding your program nomination by the end of the quarter in which your application is due.
  • Please reference our FAQ page for application guidance if needed.
