Faculty – Call for Proposals

Academic Years: 2019-2020

The UCI Study Abroad Center, a unit of The Office of Global Engagement, aspires to be an integral part of every student’s UCI education, providing opportunities for international, intercultural experiences through academic programs, exchanges, internships, service learning and volunteering.

The UCI Study Abroad Center is here to assist you in conceiving of and developing programs abroad for UCI academic units.  We are developing resources and procedures to simplify the process, leading to an official proposal and approval process.  When this is complete, you will be able to find the information here.  Generally, proposals will be due 12-18 months before a program will begin, in order to prepare program academic and logistical details, coordinate with partners on campus and abroad, prepare budgets and marketing plans, and confirm health and safety guidelines.

Who?  Academic Senate & Academic Federation faculty, including emeriti and retired faculty.

When?  Proposal details will be located here as soon as they become available.

Why?  Faculty Leaders of UCI Study Abroad programs describe teaching abroad as “the best teaching experience of their careers”; it is a great opportunity to bring a new dimension to your education. UCI will enhance learning outcomes and impact for our students and increase international collaboration and connections for our faculty through these programs.

What? We are developing procedures for a wide variety of programming abroad.
