PRIOR TO APPLYING
Students who are planning to study abroad between their 1st and 3rd year are highly encouraged to meet with an Academic Counselor in the Bren School prior to applying and after selection. If you are planning to study abroad in your senior year or last 3 quarters of study, you are required to meet with an Academic Counselor.
Appointments can be made by visiting appointments.web.uci.edu and selecting “ICS Undergraduate Student Affairs” from the drop down menu.
If you wish for your study abroad courses to be evaluated for transferability, please submit a Study Abroad Syllabus Review form. Please note that processing time is 3-4 weeks and you may already be abroad when you receive a decision.
If the courses you originally discussed with your Academic Counselor change, submit a new Study Abroad Syllabus Review form. Please note that processing time is 3-4 weeks and you may already be abroad when you receive a decision.
Once your units are posted on your transcript, you may schedule an appointment with an Academic Counselor. For any courses that have not already been reviewed, you may submit a Study Abroad Syllabus Review form. Please note that processing time is 3-4 weeks.
To submit a request for ICS Degreeworks Updates please fill out the Degreeworks Update Form found here under Academic Record Update Forms: https://www.ics.uci.edu/ugrad/QA_Petitions.php.
For students going abroad their senior year, usually you need to be certified for graduation at least one quarter after your return due to the time it takes for units to be posted to your UCI transcript. Please keep this in mind when applying for graduation.
