• Best time for Campuswide Honors students to study abroad: fall of junior year, full year junior year, or fall of senior year
• Take Honors Core courses early, before going abroad – Take Social Science Core and Science Core or both years of Sustainable Societies sophomore year – many students already do
• Find a research advisor prior to studying abroad, even if you won’t do research until you return
• Discover or enhance your research topic while abroad
• Most cost-effective to go during the school year
• Enhance your resume – very helpful when applying for awards, scholarships, achievements, grad school, medical school, etc
