Virtual Programs

UCI students can engage globally by taking courses, doing research and interning from wherever they are. These virtual opportunities take many forms and are offered by UCEAP, UCI, Other UC Programs and Independent Programs.

There are numerous benefits to participating in a Virtual Program including:

  • Gaining new perspectives and insights about your field from others around the world
  • Learning cross-cultural communication skills without the travel
  • Building your global network
  • Enhancing your skills utilizing digital tools crucial for today’s global job market
  • Having a global experience without the costs of physical travel

The programs offered by UCI include courses available in the UCI General Catalogue. The UCEAP and Other UC Programs virtual programs offer courses with UC credits. Courses from the Virtual Academic Program must be degree-applicable for the individual student to be eligible for financial aid and the student must maintain full-time student status (Quarter – at least 12.0 units; Summer – at least 6.0 units between all three summer sessions) in order to be eligible for financial aid. If there is a program you are interested in, be sure to check in with your Academic Counselor and Financial Aid before committing.
